Inner-City Arts is a recipient of the prestigious Rudy Bruner Gold Medal for Urban Excellence: Chosen as an outstanding example of urban placemaking, Inner-City Arts won because we address two of the most critical issues facing our cities today: homelessness, and the challenges facing our public schools. According to the selection committee, “The impact of the Inner-City Arts experience in the lives of children who may be homeless or transient, and who receive little or no arts education in school, can be transformative.”
