Valerie Miller
Professional Development Manager

Before moving to Los Angeles, Valerie was Associate Director at the Center of Creative Arts (COCA), a nationally known, community-based arts organization that serves 50,000 people annually. Prior to her tenure at COCA she was Director of Education at Craft Alliance Center for the Visual Arts, a highly-regarded gallery and education center located in St. Louis, MO. Miller has initiated or managed many innovative arts-based programs in partnership with a variety of social service agencies, including those that serve developmentally and physically disabled people and victims of domestic violence. She has worked closely with artists, community and corporate volunteers, parents, children, teachers, social service agencies and school administrators who share the goal of bringing the arts to all, regardless of financial status. Her commitment to providing arts programs to under-served communities is what drew her to the vibrant and caring community that is Inner-City Arts. A trained dancer, Miller was educated at the National Academy of Arts, Washington University and the University of Massachusetts/Amherst. She holds a BA in Arts Administration and is a graduate of the Women in Leadership program of the Coro Foundation, a leadership-training group with centers in six cities nationwide.
