Los Angeles by Color: 7th and Kohler installation

February 25, 2025 | Feb. 15, 2025 | Los Angeles by Color is a chromatic visual series started in 2016 by Los Angeles artist, designer, and educator Ashley Margo. Part two of the series includes 16 panels (ribbons) totaling 120 feet of digital collage. The color ribbons weave together parts of the city that will never physically be connected, but exist as a spatial embodiment of how color has shaped and connects LA’s landscape. For the first time, the Los Angeles by Color ribbons are in a space together.

Ashley Margo’s work investigates the city through movement with others. She uses photography as a means to collect mementos, technology to further understand our collective environment, and digital collaging as a way to reflect on time.

Los Angeles by Color was supported by the Association for Women in Architecture Foundation Mid-Career Fellowship in 2020 and received the A+D Museum Design Award for On the Wall in 2021.
