- Chose a giving level and gathering size according to their need.
- Received Art Kits with goodies and supplies to create and celebrate.
- Gathered with their favorite people in their favorite spot for an online art-making session suitable for any skill level. Our gala was for individuals, couples, or groups, with a dedicated family session available with age-appropriate materials and instruction. All guests convened online to explore their creativity together.
- Designed their own quality arts keepsake with a hands‑on, signature Inner-City Arts activity led by Lead Teaching Artist, Marissa Sykes.
- Will join us for an optional Projection Gallery Happy Hour a few weeks after the event to celebrate the art they made and the impact they have created for our young people!
How will my donation support students?
Inner-City Arts provides students throughout Los Angeles with access to caring adults who teach them skills to positively process their feelings, to ensure success in school and career, and to develop into thoughtful, socially aware creative adults. Your gift toward this event helps us raise the $4.6 million needed this year to provide arts education to students, teachers, and families.
Is Art Unbound in person or virtual?
The October 24th Gala is a hands-on artmaking experience with guests convening ONLINE for artmaking, mingling, and instruction. The virtual nature of Art Unbound allows you to participate from anywhere you have internet access and a space to create.
Both before and after the event, there will be optional, in-person convenings with COVID safety protocols in place for those of us who are comfortable with get-togethers and are eager to reconnect with our community and campus.
I have a group of people who wish to participate, will we be able to do this together?
You are welcome to gather as many guests as you like in whatever location you choose. If your group of friends would like to organize a get-together, they should consider pitching in on a patron package. If your friends/family/colleagues wish to make a big impact on our students' lives, consider a sponsor package. Sponsor packages provide you with optional concierge assistance, where our staff will help you and even attend your gathering for in-person instructional support.
What supplies do I need to participate?
Everything you need to make a 3D sculpture will be included in your gala Art Kit, including materials, tools, snacks, and wine. Tech-wise, you will need the ability to access the internet and Zoom.
How do I get my Art Kit?
We encourage all participants to pick up their Art Kits during the Pre-Gala Art Kit Curbside Pickup & Campus Tour. Depending on your gift level, we may ask you to help us cover the cost of shipping, ensuring more of your donation goes directly to our students.
How much does it cost to ship my Art Kit?
Art Kit shipping or delivery is free for sponsors at the $10,000 sponsorship level and above for up to 3 locations. All other Sponsors, Patrons, or ticket purchasers are asked to cover the cost of shipping their Art Kits at $15 per Art Kit, per address.
What is the Pre-Gala Art Kit Curbside Pickup & Campus Tour?
This is an optional open house for guests to safely visit campus and pick up their Art Kits.
What is the Post-Gala Projection Gallery Happy Hour?
This is an optional gathering of friends and supporters at Arts District Brewing Company where we will raise a glass to our Art Unbound creations and celebrate our students.
Are children welcome?
We are aiming to host two sessions on October 24th. The first will cater to children and families with instruction geared toward those 12 and under. The second session will cater to adults. Note that if you want each child to create an art piece, you’ll want to purchase the appropriate number of tickets/art kits.
I'm not an artist. What kind of art are we making and will this be fun for me?
All skill levels are welcome. The art-making you will experience is about journey and experimentation and is intended to give you an insight on the student experience. The process of creating your 3D sculpture will feel meditative, exploratory, relaxing, enjoyable, and fun. If you know and love Inner-City Arts, you understand that our work is all about engaging students in the act of creative expression -- their work is less about the end product than the experience getting there.
I don't have much money. Can I still help?
Yes, your gift of any size makes a difference! For every $25 raised, we’re able to provide studio supplies for one student.
Do you have a question that isn't listed above? Please reach Jamie Cataldo, Director of Individual Giving and Events at 727.688.0318 or jamie@inner-cityarts.org.
Your Donation Creates A Lifeline for Students Who Need It Most!
In the past 16 months, Inner-City Arts has put thousands of supplies and creative technology in the hands of vulnerable young people so they can express their feelings while building art and life skills. Join others in helping us reach a goal that will have a huge impact on our young people in this next uncertain year. Don’t believe us? Take a look back at the impact our mission had last year on young people’s well being.
