Inner-City Arts Through One Student’s Eyes
weareartists-01

“And we do it all here. This safe haven of creativity. Where we capture light, dream in color, make music, dance to the rhythm of our song, pray through performance.”

We are overjoyed to share this film, “The Inner City Artist,” by high school student Atziri M. Debuted at the Work of Art graduation this June, the short film is a lyrical exploration of and visual ode to the Inner-City Arts’ campus. “The Inner City Artist” is a beautiful declaration of what it means to be an artist in the heart of Los Angeles.

Watch the video to see Inner-City Arts through Atziri’s eyes.

During the Work of Art 2018 graduation, Atziri was one of four students to receive a scholarship, presented by Inner-City Arts Founders Board Member and Work of Art visionary Vera R. Campbell, which enables Atziri to pursue her first year of college debt-free. She will be attending Swarthmore College in the fall!

Special thanks to Vera R. Campbell and members of the Founders’ Board for supporting students for years after they leave this campus.
